Who are we?

The South African School of First Aid Education (Pty) Ltd. (known as SASFAE) is a Johannesburg based training academy that offers Department of Labour accredited first aid courses at various levels as well as custom made first aid and CPR awareness courses. Training is done onsite at your premises, in and around Johannesburg.

Our History

SASFAE is an organisation dedicated to the provision of professional first aid education. It was formed in 1994 and since then gone on to train many people in Emergency Medical Care. SASFAE is staffed by educationalists and registered first aid and CPR instructors. All Staff are qualified Emergency Care Practitioners and Paramedics registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).


What are SASFAE's aims?

  • To provide appropriate first aid education to scholars, teachers, aftercare personnel, parents and caregivers
  • To encourage industry to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993
  • To have one person in every household countrywide trained in CPR


Are SASFAE Certificates Recognised?

  • YES. SASFAE is accredited and registered with the Department of Labour - Registration Number CI 92/3/12/1 (Old CI069)
  • All first aid certificates are valid for 3 years from date of issue
  • CPR certificates are only valid for 1 year
  • All training complies with the regulations set down by the Department of Labour, Resuscitation Council of South Africa and the American Heart Association.
