
First Aid Level One
OHS Department of Labour Accredited Training
The duration of this course is 16 hours (2 days and consists of 50% theory and 50% practical).
The online part of the course covers the theory lessons. Students will be required to attend a practical class day to recap theory, and to learn/perform the skills, learn and practice Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, as well as complete the written test.
This course contains the following modules:
- Principals of First Aid Safety
- Legal and Ethics of First Aid
- Emergency Scene Management
- Cardiovascular Emergencies
- One Rescuer CPR (Adult and Child)
- Choking (Adult and Child)
- Shock, Unconsciousness and Fainting
- Wounds and Bleeding
- Fractures
- Burns
- Head and Spinal Injuries
- Medical Conditions (Diabetes, Asthma, Anaphylaxis and Seizures)
- Secondary Survey
- Triage (Multiple Casualty Management)
Practical components are assessed on Practical Days.
A written Exam will be undertaken on the last day of the course to assess the theory component.

No, this is only the theory component. Once youhave completed the online content, you will have to come in and spend a day with one of our instructors who will assist you with the practical component of the course. Also you will need to write a written theory exam too.
